Autoclave Process
The only autoclave proces in the world that is used in racket sports tecnhonoly. The Nano autocure process removes air and impurities from between the graphite layers to create a totally seamless racquet for strength and flexibility

hot melt – the most consistent graphite manufacturing process used in the racket sports technology. With 40T super micro carbon fiber, the shaft is compressed under extremly high pressure to create the strongest shaft delivering maximum flexibility. Perfect for high level players.

HC2 System – The nano microcarbon reinforced hc2 placed at the two sides in the top of the frame, combines the moi acceleration principles and generates higher repulsion. This creates the uniqueness of the head weighted effect that puts 6% more speed into smashes. In addition, the HC2 system creates bigger sweet spot and pinpoint precision even in the off center hits.

Muscular Wave System – This unique wave design in the frame creates a stronger frame which allows a higher string tension for the player to generate more power in the smash.

Power Groove System – the unique concave power design with 40T high modulus carbon matrix has doubled the restitution force of traditional 24T graphite. This creates superior resiliency and converts the torsion into high repulsion power and stability.

Kevlar Joint – A special kevlar matrix material insert in the T-joint reduces torque and twist in the racket and gives increased control. Allows more forgiveness on off-center shots.

Wilson Racquetball Racquet

There are two types of Wilson racquetball racquets – The cheap entry level racquet that costs around $20-$50, and the top end line for more serious racquetball players. If you play racquetball at least once a month, we recommend going with the top end line. These racquets usually cost around $170. That’s a bit pricey but you will feel the difference immediately. Here are some ways to get a top of the line racquet for a lower price;

Buy the previous years’ model. You can save 50% this way and you still get a high quality racquet.

Find a local representative from Wilson. A lot of local reps will sell the racquet for their cost. The easiest way to find your local Wilson rep is to show up at a USRA sanctioned tournament in your area and ask the players there. Wilson usually has at least 1 local person who is in charge of local sponsors. This is who you want to buy your gear from.

The current line of performance racquets from Wilson is called the BLX series. Wilson made a significant change from the previous models. The shape of the racquet is different and they are all head heavy. In the past, you could hit with the previous year model and the current year model without much difference. You can’t do that with the BLX line — these racquets have a completely different feel and take a bit to adjust to.

Lockjaw – 160g – Lightest model.

Sword – 185 – Heaviest model which offers the most power.

Warlock – 175 – The “Goldilocks” racquet — not too heavy, not too light. This is the Wilson Racquetball Racquet we see most.

As a reminder, if you want a top of the line racquet the best way to purchase one is through the local rep. If you’re looking for the low cost Wilson racquets you can purchase those through your typical stores – Sports Authority, Big 10 Sports, or even right here via Amazon.

Here are some simple tips that can elevate your play to the next level.

Always control center court. Center court is not exactly in the middle of the court. You want to be closer to the back wall so you have time to reach passing shots. Controlling this position will give you the best chance at returning each shot by your opponent.

Don’t force shots. It is much harder to hit a successful kill shot when the point of contact is above your waist. Only go for a kill if the ball is around knee height. If the ball is around your waist, its a great setup for a passing shot. If the ball is around your upper body, hit a ceiling shot. Of course there are some exceptions to this — if you can kill 90% of shots that are waist high, then kill it. But for the most part, following these guidelines will help you score more points.

The majority of your shots should be passes. A good passing shot will bounce twice before hitting the back wall and be on the side of the court. The 2 main passes are cross court — hitting to the opposite side of where you are, and down the line shots — hitting to the same side of the court. The cross court pass is the more difficult of the two because you need to hit the angle right so that the ball is on the sidewall when it reaches your opponent.

Sometimes you make a mistake and hit the ball near the center of the court. You can still get to center court if you don’t mind being hit by the ball or you trust your opponent will hit a low shot. All you need to do is jump into the position. Time your jump so that you will be over the ball if it is hit at you. If your opponent hits the ball high and it ends up hitting you, it is not a penalty hinder because you gave him the pass/kill shot. If your opponent hits a good pass/kill shot, you put yourself in a better position to return it.

Keep track of where your opponent is on the court and hit shots away from them.
